About Little 5 Points Film Festival
the Future of indEpendent film
We’re creating Little 5 Points Film Festival to celebrate diverse voices in independent film and spotlight the neighborhood that brings us together.
Little 5 has a personality of its own, shaped by a diverse community and a spirit of inclusion and independence. We want filmmakers and audiences to experience that character alongside the films.
Meet the people behind the stories, explore between screenings, and keep the conversation going at neighborhood gatherings.
Our first edition takes place June 17–20, 2027, at 7 Stages Theatre and other locations throughout Atlanta’s Little 5 Points.
Why Little 5 Points
The neighborhood is part of the reason this festival exists.
Little 5 has maintained its independent spirit through its artists, theaters, locally owned businesses, and the people who support them. It’s a place with room for individuality and different ways of seeing the world.
We want to build on that spirit by bringing films into the neighborhood and involving the places and people that give it its character.
What diversity means to us
We want diversity to be reflected in the films we select, the filmmakers we champion, and the people who take part.
We champion filmmakers whose voices and experiences have been underrepresented in film. We welcome filmmakers of every race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, ability, age, and background, from first-time directors to experienced storytellers.
There is no required subject or single approach to storytelling. A comedy, a horror film, a documentary, or an experimental short can each bring a perspective we haven’t encountered before.
Our responsibility is to stay curious, look beyond familiar experiences, and give different voices thoughtful consideration.
Our place in Atlanta’s film community
We’re proud to champion Atlanta and Georgia filmmakers. We want local audiences to know their work and local filmmakers to have opportunities to connect with one another.
We also welcome visiting filmmakers and films from around the world. Those exchanges help a local film community grow, introducing new ideas and relationships while keeping its roots.
Who’s behind the festival
Little 5 Film Fest is presented by the Atlanta Film Series, which has been celebrating independent film and connecting filmmakers with Atlanta audiences for more than 25 years.
The Atlanta Film Series is the team behind Atlanta Shortsfest, Atlanta Underground Film Festival, and Atlanta HorrorFest. Our experience bringing filmmakers and audiences together informs how we’re building this first edition.
Our focus is on presenting films with care, connecting filmmakers with audiences, and building an event that people want to return to.
